Ever since my first visit to Stellenbosch, I have never gotten over how beautiful the area is. However, the town's best kept secret lies to the south east, at the foot of the Hottentots-Hollands mountains.
Jonkershoek is a serene nature reserve area, with the Eerste River meandering down below before it pours into the Indian ocean. Jonkershoek hosts a number of farms nestled in between two mountains. One of these is Ride In Cafe and flower farm, and this is where Precious decided to celebrate her birthday this year. The white theme added to the peaceful surroundings as the ladies did a tour of the greenhouses where the flowers are grown, followed by a lovely breakfast at the cafe which boasts lush lawns and a beautiful mountain view. Here are some photos from the Saturday morning. Happy birthday Precious!

Kholo's 5th birthday - Art Jamming
Children are probably the most fun to photograph because they don't over-think their poses and aren't too conscious of how they might look on photos. You get a raw, honest pose that enables you to capture the most real emotions at that moment. It's even better when they're doing something fun, like painting. The difficulty is always being low (on your knees or squatting) so you can shoot at their level. Here are some shots I took of Kholo's 5th birthday.
